Google Pixel Event Set for October 4

Google will hold its annual Pixel hardware event on Wednesday, October 4, with the Made by Google keynote beginning at 10 a.m. ET, according to 9to5 Google. The company is expected to unveil the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2.

Ahead of the news, Android Setting spotted a leaked image of the unreleased flagship phone on the Google Store website (it’s since been pulled down). The image showed the Google Pixel 8 Pro in Porcelain. The phone appears to still sport the protruding camera bar but has a glass oval covering the lens, which render leaks suggested in March, according to The Verge.

Google’s event adds to the typically busy fall season for gadgets, with Apple and Amazon already slated to hold their own events in the coming weeks. Beyond phones, Google typically shows off products from its other lines, whether its the Nest camera family or Google Home smart speakers. Cord cutters can look out for any updates to the Chromecast or Google TV lines too.

Google wasn’t immediately available for comment.
