The Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro 2 could be in the works.

According to tips received by Android Police, Google has included a new icon depicting the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 2 on its Material Symbols and Icons page. In addition, the tipster spotted a Github commit for the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 2 dated back to August 11.

Here’s what the icon looks like:

In August, 9to5Google came across a string of code in the Google Home app that also pointed towards a new iteration of wireless router. At the time, version 3.4 of a Google Home software update hinted at a new Nest Wi-Fi model GS4VD codenamed Breeza or BRZA. Historically, Google has listed other models in its Home app. This strengthens the possibility of a new device.

The leaks don’t guarantee a product launch, and there hasn’t been an official device announcement yet.

Google has been working to grow its presence in users’ homes, and a new generation of its Wi-Fi router would line up with the tech giant’s goal.

The original Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro arrived last October ahead of the Pixel 7 lineup. Nest Wi-Fi works differently than your average router. Instead of your coverage weakening as you move away from the router, Google says its Mesh Wi-Fi router can cover your entire home with Wi-Fi 6E speeds up to 5.4 Gbps. If the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 2 comes to fruition, it’s possible the device could tap into Wi-Fi 7, which offers higher speeds and range.

Google wasn’t immediately available for comment.
