Google Launches Google Kids Space Exclusively For Android Tablets

Today Google launched a special kids mode feature for Android tablets so children can have a safe and personalized online experience. ‘Google Kids Space’ is an area that features kid-friendly content with parental controls and curated content for kids to learn and find entertainment. Google Kids Space will first be available as a preloaded feature on the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 HD Gen 2 with plans to expand to other Android devices in the future.

Google Kids Space will feature content pulled from across the web, including YouTube videos that inspire kids to do off-screen learning activities. Google has also worked with multiple publishers to make more than 400 book titles available in its reading section. With tabs like “Watch,” “Read,” “Play” and “Make,” the design is made to help parents feel confident letting their children have access to devices, and kids can find learning activities and entertainment that’s also educational.

Prior to this launch, Google’s kid-friendly offering was Family Link, a collection of parental control features that are built into the Android experience. These controls help parents set time limits, set privacy controls, place safety filters to screen content, and more. Google Kids Space provides a more extensive experience for children that will be integrated into the Google ecosystem.
