Google is reportedly building a streaming video aggregator tool for the Chrome web browser. Called “Kaleidoscope,” the feature is not yet available but screenshots show that the tool could allow users to watch streaming video from different sites and services in one place.
Chrome Story first posted about the project and shared screenshots of the service with the message “You can see all your favorite shows in one place, no matter where they’re hosted.”
As Chrome Story points out, the feature is likely still being tested internally before going into a beta version for users to try out, and possibly eventually being a service that anyone can use to bring together all of their streaming services in one location.
The new feature is just one of the steps Google is taking to solidify its spot in the streaming world. Google already owns YouTube TV which recently added a slate of new channels from ViacomCBS.
The company is also working on a new streaming device, codenamed Sabrina. Rumors and leaked info about the new device show that the device will come with a new design, a remote control, and potentially an updated user interface for Android TV.
