The current Chromecast with Google TV finally addressed many of the issues people had with the original Chromecast. Now not only can you cast a wide range of media from your phone, tablet, or computer to your TV, but the new version also has a remote. Now according to a report from 9to5Google, a new Chromecast with Google TV is in the works and should be coming out later this year.

According to reports, the new Chromecast with Google TV will address some of the performance issues the original version had. There have long been rumors of a version with improved storage, more ram, and a slightly faster processor. For now, though, that is all speculation.

The new Chromecast With Google TV was first spotted in a preview update of the Google Home app. Alongside the old model code “YTV” there is a new one called “YTC.”

Currently, there are two versions of the Chromecast with Google TV an HD version and a 4K version.

Google has yet to confirm the new device, but that is not unusual. Google has a history of not announcing it until the Chromecast is ready to hit stores. Sometimes even after it starts showing up on store shelves. Keep an eye out for discounts on the current Chromecast With Google TV. Typically Google will offer some good deals to clear out old stock before the new model hits stores.
