Google is Cutting The Price of 4K Movies

Apple a few weeks back started a price war when they announced they would sell 4K movies for the same price as HD. That was quickly followed by Amazon who is now selling 4K movies starting at about $5 each on Amazon Video.

Now Google is also dropping the price of many of their 4K movies. Android Police is reporting that newly released titles like Spider Man Homecoming and Baby Driver have been released at $20.

That now leaves Vudu looking very price with their prices still in the $30 range. (As of the last time we checked.) It will be interesting to see how Walmart’s Vudu service will respond to the new price war of Apple, Amazon, and now Google Play.

Google has a big press event next week for new phones and it is rumored that a new streaming player may also be introduced next week. It is possible this new price will be featured as part of a effort to push a new 4K HDR streaming player.
