Get Ready for a Ton of New Live TV Streaming Services

If you thought the live TV streaming world was already crowded it is about to get a lot more crowded. Today Evolution Digital announced in a statement to Cord Cutters News that they are going to help smaller cable companies create their own live TV streaming services.

The new eVue-NOW! service allows cable TV companies to easily launch streaming services to take on Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, Hulu, and more.

With the new eVue-NOW! platform, cable companies can instantly launch a live TV streaming service on devices including iOS, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Android mobile devices. The platform will also include DVR features and the ability to pause, rewind, and fast-forward live TV.

“We are proud to launch this innovative new service that gives providers a new tool to compete with other streaming apps,” said Chris Egan, CEO and co-founder at Evolution Digital. “Using our app-based service streamlines deployments and helps providers capture back a market that has steered towards virtual MVPD subscriptions. Furthermore, eVUE-NOW! is an inherently better product than competitors’ as it features universal search across all content, as well as Video on Demand and all local broadcast channels. eVUE-NOW!, bundled with the operator’s broadband offering, can be delivered at a better price point to both the operator and the consumer while supplying the viewer with the content and functionalities that they want in a video service.”

This is not a new idea as recently PlayStation Vue and fuboTV both announced they would also work with smaller cable companies to help them launch streaming services for their customers.

No dates have been set or announcements made as to what cable companies will be first out the door with this system. Though as smaller cable companies get squeezed by larger ones look for them to launch more live TV services to fight back.
