GameStop Plans to Offer Unlimited Video Game Rentals For $10 a Month

For some time now we have heard that GameStop is planning to launch a video game rental service. According to GameRant.com, it is about to become a reality. Although this may be slightly off topic from our typical coverage, it is a great way to save money.

The new program will be called PowerPass and will allow customers to swap a used game for any other used game in the store. For one low fee you will be able to swap games as many times as you want.

Starting at just $10 a month if you prepay for six months ($60 upfront) you will get full access to your local GameStop’s used game library.

You will need to be a member of the PowerUp Rewards program to use the rental program. The good news is GameStop offers a free membership to their rewards program at the basic level.

The program is reportedly slowly being rolled out nationwide with a goal of a November 19, 2017, launch date. GameStop seems to hope that this will help offset their declining sales, which forced them to shut down 150 stores earlier this year.
