FuboTV Replaces Over 100 Local CBS Affiliates With National Feeds

If you have fuboTV, you may find that your local CBS affiliate has been replaced with a national CBS affiliate. FuboTV’s deal to carry CBS networks is up for renewal, and some local affiliate owners are not happy with the new deal Paramount reached with FuboTV. Now any CBS market that did not agree to this new deal with FuboTV has had their local feeds replaced with a national feed.

The deadline for your local CBS station to agree to the new deal was 5 PM Eastern on Monday, January 30th. If your local CBS did not agree to the deal, you would find a national feed with all-national programming but no local programming.

The locals that did not agree to the new deal include one’s owned by Nexstar, TEGNA, Sinclair, and Scripps.

In recent years, local stations have given up their rights to negotiate with streaming services like fuboTV directly. Now they let Paramount do it for them, and they get to devices if they agree to the deal or not.

It seems that locals are unhappy with the deal Paramount has agreed to, but locals also gave Paramount the right to stream a national feed if they don’t agree to the new contract.

CBS will reportedly replace local programming with content from its free CBS News streaming service.
