fuboTV Officially Removes Starter Plan, Plans Now Start at $69.99

After testing a change to its plans and pricing, fuboTV has now officially raised its base price by removing the Starter plan. New subscribers will now only see three options: Pro for $69.99 per month, Elite for $79.99 per month, and the Latino package for $32.99 per month.

When asked about removing the Starter plan during the test period, a fuboTV spokesperson said:

Over time, we’ve noticed our best-engaged customers maximize their DVR use. Given the DVR capacity is limited in the Starter package, as well as the number of concurrent streams, we’ll be testing making Pro the primary offer for new consumers to provide greater value around their DVR and household sharing experience.

Pro offers all of the same sports, news and entertainment channels as Starter, but with upgraded DVR storage of 1,000 hours and Unlimited Screens (up to 10 device streams at home simultaneously). Customers of our Pro plan can enjoy the recent addition of Magnolia Network, which was previously only available in our Elite package.

According to fuboTV’s Help Center, the price change officially went into effect on March 14.

The new pricing puts fuboTV in line with DIRECTV Stream and Hulu with Live TV which raised its live TV package price to $69.99 in November 2021. With the price hike, Hulu with Live also began offering access to Disney+ and ESPN+.

That test came after fubo TV’s “experiment” with removing monthly plans and instead only offering new subscribers quarterly plans. fuboTV reversed the decision just 11 days later and brought back monthly subscriptions.

fuboTV’s Help Center says that this pricing change will only affect new fuboTV subscribers. Current subscribers who signed up for the Starter plan before March 14, 2022 will not see a change in their plan at this time.
