fuboTV Is Planning to Launch An Ad-Supported Channel, Not A Free Streaming Service

Earlier today, we reported that fuboTV would be launching a free streaming service similar to Pluto. fuboTV has now reached out to say that they are not developing a new streaming service, but will be launching an ad-supported channel.

“fuboTV believes in the future of pay TV and we are looking at launching an ad-supported channel not a platform,” a fuboTV spokesperson told us.

We don’t yet have details about what this channel will look like. What we do know is that fuboTV is working on some content that we might be seeing on this new channel. According to fuboTV in the 3rd quarter of 2019, they  plan to launch a minute-long ad-break dubbed “Sports Break” with short-form content between two ads.

Currently, fuboTV costs $55 a month for 70+ channels.

We’ll share more information about this new ad-supported channel as details are made available.
