Fubo TV Hikes Its Regional Sports Network Fee to $16.99, In Some Markets

Fubo TV, a popular live TV streaming service known for its extensive sports coverage, has announced a increase in its Regional Sports Network (RSN) fee, effective immediately for new subscribers and subscribers The fee, which applies to customers whose plans include regional sports channels, will now rise to as much as $16.99 per month, depending on the subscriber’s location and the number of RSNs in their area. This change, detailed on Fubo’s support page, comes on the heels of a $5 price hike for its English-language plans in January 2025, further inflating the total cost for sports fans.

The RSN fee, which Fubo introduced in 2020, has been a point of contention for subscribers due to its mandatory nature and lack of transparency in pricing. Previously, the fee ranged from $11.99 to $15.99 per month, with customers paying $11.99 for one RSN and $14.99 for two or more. Now, the fee is climbing to $16.99 for some customers, ,depending on what RSN you may have. The total cost of a Fubo subscription can significantly exceed the advertised base price.

Fubo justifies the increase by citing the rising costs of programming, particularly from RSN providers like FanDuel Sports Network, which the service has expanded in recent years to cover 31 RSNs. Fubo says they need this price hike to cover the cost of rising content costs.

As Fubo navigates its recent announced merger plans with Disney’s live TV business and a new sports streaming package, the RSN fee increase risks alienating its core audience of sports fans, who may question whether the cost of local games is worth the price. For now, Fubo remains a top choice for RSN access, but its pricing practices could push more users to explore other options.
