Fubo Adds Over 100 Local CBS Affiliates Ending a 2 Month Long Standoff

If you have Fubo, you may find that your local CBS affiliate was replaced with a national CBS affiliate back in January. Fubo’s deal to carry CBS networks was up for renewal, and some local affiliate owners are not happy with the new deal Paramount reached with Fubo. At the time, any CBS market that did not agree to this new deal with Fubo had their local feeds replaced with a national feed.

Today Fubo and the missing CBS affiliates reached a deal to return local CBS affiliates to Fubo’s live TV streaming service.

This means locals owned by Nexstar, TEGNA, Sinclair, Scripps, and more are now once again on Fubo or will be added soon.

Update: Fubo has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that almost all of the lost CBS affiliates are now back on Fubo.

In recent years, local stations have given up their rights to negotiate with streaming services like fuboTV directly. Now they let Paramount do it for them, and they get to devices if they agree to the deal or not.

It seems that locals were at first unhappy with the deal Paramount had agreed to, but locals also gave Paramount the right to stream a national feed if they didn’t agree to the new contract.
