Frndly TV Adds 2 New Channels But Drops 2 Channels

Today the live TV streaming service Frndly TV announced that it will be adding two new channels to its lineup, including Pursuit Channel and Waypoint TV. The bad news is they will also be dropping the Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.

Here is the official statement from Frndly TV’s Facebook account:

We are excited to announce the launch of two new channels on Frndly TV for the outdoor fan: Pursuit Channel and Waypoint TV.

As part of these adjustments, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network will no longer be available on Frndly TV. We understand that programs covering hunting, fishing, and the outdoor lifestyle are important to many of our customers. We hope you continue to enjoy Outdoor Channel as well as our new additions in Waypoint TV and Pursuit Channel.

Thank you for being a valued Frndly TV customer.

This comes as Frndly TV will be adding MeTV+ later this week. This is MeTV’s second attempt to launch a second over-the-air TV channel or OTA. The first attempt MeTV Too shutdown back in 2013. The channel offers a huge collection of classic shows like T.J. Hooker, Mod Squad, Mission: Impossible, Space 1999, The Andy Griffith Show, and more. You can find the full schedule on MeTV’s website HERE.

Most of the markets MeTV+ is on are owned by the parent company of MeTV, the Weigel Broadcasting Group but other partners including the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Group, also carry the channel. You can find the full list of channels offering MeTV+ HERE.

MeTV has done very little marketing of this new option and its rollout to more markets. The official MeTV+ website has not been updated since the announcement of the channel back in 2021. The good news though is if you live in one of the markets with the channel, you get even more classic shows for free with an antenna.
