Freevee is Streaming the First Four Seasons of Magnum P.I. Starting Next Month

The first four seasons of Magnum P.I. reboot are coming to the free streaming platform Freevee starting next month.

The series will start streaming on Friday, September 1. Although NBC-owned Peacock hosts the fifth season, this is the first time the previous seasons will be available on a streaming platform, according to TVLine.

The first half of the final season of Magnum P.I. premiered in February. NBC and Peacock will air new episodes of the remaining ten-episode second half of the last season starting October 4. New episodes will air on Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. E.T.

Magnum P.I. debuted on CBS in 2018 and was slated to be canceled last year after the fourth season. NBC picked up the series for two more seasons, but in June decided to split 20 episodes into season five, part A and B. Viewers dropped from 7.3 million on CBS during season four to under 5 million for season 5A on NBC, according to TVLine. This will be the series’ final season as cast contracts expired on June 30, and the writers’ and actors’ strikes are still ongoing.

The series is a reboot of the 1980 show starring Tom Selleck as a former Navy SEAL turned private eye solving crimes in Hawaii. Jay Hernandez plays the new Magnum. Perdita Weeks, Juliet Higgins, Zachary Knighton, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang round out the cast.Freevee is the free ad-supported version of Amazon Prime Video. It doesn’t require users to create a sign-in to watch, although users who opt to can create a watch list and pick up content where they left off. The original Magnum P.I. series is available to stream now. After the four seasons debuts next month, there’s still plenty of time to catch up before the final half of the last season airs this fall.
