Fox News Dominated Online Streaming on YouTube & More

FOX News Digital continued its dominance among major news organizations in the second quarter of 2026, recording the highest figures for total digital multiplatform unique visitors, multiplatform views, and multiplatform minutes according to data from Comscore. The platform averaged 178 million unique visitors, 4.6 billion views, and 9.7 billion minutes across desktop, mobile, and other digital channels during the period. This performance extended a long streak of leadership, marking the 21st consecutive quarter at the top for views and the 16th for minutes among news brands and broadcast networks.

The results reflected year-over-year growth in key areas. Total digital multiplatform unique visitors increased by 29 percent compared to the same quarter in 2025. In June alone, FOX News Digital reached 178 million unique visitors, 1.4 billion views, and 2.9 billion minutes, securing the top position for the fourth consecutive month. These metrics positioned the outlet ahead of competitors including CNN, CBS News, The New York Times, NBC News, and ABC News across multiple categories.

Competitors experienced varying results during the quarter. CNN recorded its lowest performance in several categories since 2015, with 62 million average total desktop unique visitors, 1.5 billion multiplatform views, and 2.4 billion multiplatform minutes. Other major sites also posted declines in several measurements. CBSNews.com averaged 138.9 million unique visitors, down 20 percent year-over-year. The New York Times digital properties reached 64.9 million unique visitors, a decrease of 8 percent. NBCNews.com saw modest growth in unique visitors to 99.9 million but declines in views and minutes. ABCNews.com sites trailed with 28.5 million unique visitors, down 36 percent from the prior year.

On video platforms, FOX News delivered strong engagement. The outlet achieved 1.4 billion YouTube video views across its portfolio in the quarter, leading all news brands for the seventh consecutive period. FOX News Channel content accounted for 1.1 billion of those views, surpassing the combined totals of several competitors. Since the beginning of 2026, FOX News Media properties have generated 3.3 billion YouTube views overall. FOX Business contributed an additional 158 million views during the quarter.

Mobile applications also showed notable differences. The FOX News Mobile app averaged 6.3 million unique viewers in the second quarter, more than double the 3.1 million recorded by the CNN mobile app. Social media activity further highlighted the platform’s reach. FOX News led news brands with 270 million interactions across platforms in the quarter, including substantial activity on Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok. The outlet also recorded 4.4 billion social media video views during the period.

FOXBusiness.com performed solidly within the business news category, generating 477 million multiplatform minutes, 244 million views, and an average of 18.9 million unique visitors. The site placed fourth among business-focused digital properties.

Detailed comparisons underscored the gaps in performance. In total digital multiplatform unique visitors, FOX News Digital’s 178 million figure exceeded CNN’s 62 million, CBSNews.com’s 138.9 million, The New York Times’ 64.9 million, NBCNews.com’s 99.9 million, and ABCNews.com sites’ 28.5 million. Multiplatform views followed a similar pattern, with FOX News Digital at 4.635 billion, ahead of The New York Times at 4.141 billion and well above others. In multiplatform minutes, FOX News Digital led with 9.747 billion, compared to 3.257 billion for The New York Times and lower totals for remaining competitors.

FOX News Media operates multiple properties, including the FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX News Digital platforms, audio services, books division, streaming options such as FOX Nation and FOX News International, and the FOX Weather service. The FOX News Channel has maintained its position as the top cable news network for 24 consecutive years, while FOX Business holds the leading spot among business channels. The organization, part of Fox Corporation, reaches nearly 200 million people monthly and offers live streaming through FOX One.

The second-quarter results illustrate ongoing shifts in digital news consumption patterns, with established leaders maintaining advantages in audience engagement across platforms. As the industry continues to evolve, metrics from services such as Comscore and Emplifi provide standardized measures for evaluating performance amid changing viewer habits and platform dynamics. FOX News Digital’s sustained growth in visitors alongside high engagement levels in views and time spent positions it as a central player in the current media landscape.
