FOX News Digital kicked off 2025 with a commanding performance, cementing its position as the leading news brand across multiple platforms in January. According to data from Comscore, FOX News racked up over 121 million total digital unique multiplatform visitors, marking its third-highest month in history and outpacing competitors like CNN. The network also led all news brands in multiplatform views and minutes, showcasing a surge in audience engagement that underscores its growing dominance in the digital news landscape.
For January, FOX News Digital recorded 4.6 billion total multiplatform minutes—a 40% increase from January 2024—and 2.2 billion total multiplatform views, up 30% from the previous year. The 121.8 million unique visitors represented an 11% year-over-year gain, making it the platform’s best month for multiplatform minutes since November 2020. In contrast, CNN experienced declines across the board: multiplatform views dropped 1%, minutes fell 14%, and unique visitors dipped 1% compared to January 2024. The New York Times saw mixed results, with views up 10% and unique visitors up 9%, but minutes down 5%.
FOX News’ digital triumph extended beyond its website. On YouTube, the network solidified its reign as the top news brand for the third consecutive month, amassing 410 million video views—an astonishing 145% lead over its nearest competitor, NBC News, according to Emplifi. This figure reflects a 74% jump from December 2024 and a historic 242-million-view gap over NBC, the widest margin FOX News has ever achieved against a rival on the platform. Other competitors lagged far behind: MSNBC (153 million views), ABC News (140 million), CNN (137 million), CBS News (62 million), and The New York Times (7 million) couldn’t keep pace.
Social media proved another battleground where FOX News flexed its muscle. The network drove 61 million total social interactions in January, a staggering 171% increase from the prior year, making it the most engaged news brand in its competitive set for yet another month, per Emplifi. This included 21.4 million interactions on Facebook, 34 million on Instagram, and 5 million on X. TikTok saw a particularly explosive 29.6 million interactions, up 123% from December 2024. For the first time ever, FOX News surpassed one billion social video views across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X combined—a milestone that highlights its unmatched reach in the digital age.
The FOX News Mobile App also hit a high note, attracting 6.9 million unique visitors in January, further evidence of its broad appeal. Meanwhile, FOXBusiness.com continued its winning streak, delivering 160 million multiplatform views and outperforming CNN Business for the 34th consecutive month and Bloomberg.com for the 45th. The business site logged 254 million multiplatform minutes and 23 million unique visitors, reinforcing its dominance in the financial news sector.
FOX News’ January metrics paint a picture of a media powerhouse firing on all cylinders. The 2.16 billion multiplatform views dwarfed CNN’s 1.17 billion and edged out The New York Times’ 1.64 billion, while its 4.57 billion minutes far exceeded CNN’s 1.60 billion and The New York Times’ 1.51 billion. This performance comes amid a shifting media landscape where digital consumption continues to surge, and FOX News appears to be capitalizing on that trend more effectively than its peers.
As of 7:38 AM EST today, February 21, 2025, the numbers speak for themselves: FOX News Digital isn’t just competing—it’s setting the pace. With a historic YouTube run, unprecedented social media video views, and a robust multiplatform presence, the network’s January success signals a strong start to the year and a challenge to rivals struggling to keep up.
