Football Fans Will Be Able to Watch Live Football For 48 Straight Days in 2023 Thanks to New TV Deals

Football fans watching intensely

Are you a fan of football, both college and pro? This year, thanks to new contracts with the Sunbelt conference, football fans will be able to see a live football game every night starting in October.

In 2023, we will see football every single day for 48 straight days, from October 4th, 2023, to November 21st, 2023. Sadly for football fans, as of right now, there is no games scheduled for TV on November 22nd, 2023, before games start back up on Thursday 23rd, 2023.

This will be the longest there has ever been live football every day, thanks to a new contract ESPN reached with the Sunbelt Conference. Now, the Sunbelt conferance will play games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in October, and the MAC will do so in November.

When you combine this new lineup of college football on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with NFL on Sunday and Mondays, you have football every day on TV.

Increasingly, live events like sports are the main driving force keeping cable TV running. With live events like sports, people are more likely to watch it as it happens, meaning they are seeing the ads. This is why ESPN is adding college football to more days. It is also why we are seeing other networks like The CW expand into to sports. It is also why you are seeing things like professional Pickleball on CBS during primetime.

The question now is how long can sports save cable TV before even sports can no longer keep it going.
