The new Firefox 33 for Android now allows you to send videos from your Android device to Chromecast and Roku devices. You can start to a video and leave the page to continue browsing as the video plays on your Roku.

This allows access to many websites like CNN and FoxNews. Well these sites already have channels on Roku this allows quicker access to videos as often the Roku channels can be slow to update with new content. For news sites this could be very helpful when breaking news is happening.

This new feature will more importantly bring content from many smaller sites to your Roku.

Here is how to use the new feature:

Make sure that your Roku is on the same WiFi network as your Android device.

Video controls: Your video controls will stay at the bottom of the screen while the video is playing, even if browse other websites. If you turn off your Android device, you can still control the video using your Roku remote.
