How to Find Out If You Will Lose Your PlayStation Vue Locals

Yesterday Sony started to contact PlayStation Vue subscribers to notify them that on November 8, 2017, their locals will change or, for some, they will lose access to locals. Sony did not say what locals will be affected or exactly who will be affected.

Thankfully Sony gave some hints that should make it easy to figure out if your locals will be affected.

According to the email PlayStation Vue subscribers who get locals that are not from their local area will see that channel replaced by their local or by an on-demand version.

The team at Cord Cutters News is affected by this because on our PlayStation Vue subscription we get locals from a market that is a three-hour drive from our office.

So how can you find out if you are affected? First, are you getting locals from the market you live in? If you had, for example, locals out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, when you had cable but with PlayStation Vue you get locals out of Detroit or Chicago you are likely someone who will be affected.

How can you check whether PlayStation Vue will have your local in your home market after November 8, 2017? Go to www.PlayStationVue.com (Note will need to be logged out of PS Vue or the website will just take you to your account.) and enter your zip code to see what locals you will have after November 8, 2017.

Hopefully, this helps you figure out if you will be affected by PlayStation Vue’s change to locals.
