Couple relaxing in living room holding remote control and smilingThis week a research group called Hub Entertainment Research released their annual look at the state of streaming and traditional pay TV. According to this report, cable TV/pay-TV subscriptions dropped from 84% of Americans in 2018 to 75% of all Americans in 2019.

At the same time, the big three streaming services saw a jump in subscribers. This year Netflix subscribers went up 1% to 62%, Amazon saw a 5% jump in subscribers to 37% and Hulu went up 8% to 26% of all Americans subscribing. Apparently, 70% of Americans subscribe to at least one of the so-called big three streaming services of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.

The study also looked at how happy people are with the number of streaming services they subscribe to. According to this study, 76% of streamers think they have the right number of streaming services or could add more.

Hub Entertainment Research is only one source for this. Recently Comscore reported that Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and Amazon account for 78.8% of all streaming in the United States.
