Fans Can Watch Formula E Racers Compete in Virtual Race Series

ABB Formula E - Valencia Testing 20-Medium

Formula E drivers have opted to resume competition virtually, mirroring similar moves from other motorsports organizations, including NASCAR. The electric-vehicle-only competition will continue with a nine-week online season called the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge.

Fans will be able to watch streams of the season, which features 12 official teams and 24 drivers competing in the popular racing sim rFactor 2. In addition to the main races featuring pro drivers, gamers and social media influencers will also compete in side events with the winner earning a chance to drive on a real Formula E track once real-life racing resumes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit UNICEF and the season will be broadcast on several streaming platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch. Some of Formula E’s broadcast partners will also air the events starting on April 25th. The competition starts with a test round on Saturday, April 18 at 10:30 ET and then the season progresses as follows:

All events start at 10:30 ET
