Facebook Gaming’s New Feature Lets Players Set Up Tournaments

Facebook Gaming has announced a new Tournaments feature that enables players to set up, well, tournaments. The company bills it as a “one-stop shop” for tournament organizers. It’s currently in an “early access” stage, but it supports several types of play. Plus, organizers can stream their events, allowing fans to tune into the action.

At the moment, the feature supports single-elimination, double-elimination, and round robin styles, including both singles and team tournaments. In the future, the group aims to add Swiss-style tournaments as well.

As far as platforms go, Facebook Gaming tournaments support the iOS and Android Facebook apps, as well as desktop and web browsers. Creating a tournament seems straightforward enough. Organizers can set up public or private events, add an event photo or video, include start and end dates, assign co-hosts, and more.
