Exclusive: Documentary Streaming Service MagellanTV Taps Seasoned Marketing Executive as Director of Marketing

Documentary streaming service MagellanTV is bringing on former Mediaocean executive Rob McEvily as the new director of marketing.

McEvily has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, corporate communications, and brand storytelling. His latest position was as the director of brand content at Mediaocean, an omnichannel advertising platform. Previously, he spent a decade as the director of marketing at MediaPost Communications, overseeing all advertising and promotional content.

McEvily will work out of MegellanTV’s New York headquarters and report to MagellanTV Managing Director Greg Diefenbach.

“I’m proud, excited, and honored to join the MagellanTV team and its journey of growth and innovation in the world of streaming,” said McEvily. “Together, we’ll continue redefining how audiences experience and appreciate the power of documentaries.”

MagellanTV is bringing on new talents as the streaming platform expands its content library and digital footprint. The company plans to increase its original content production of “documentaries worth watching” while growing its collection of MegallanTV-inspired free ad-supported channels, such as Wild Nature Now which launched in April.

“Rob’s coming aboard at an exciting time,” said Diefenbach. “As we continue to build upon the MagellanTV platform, embracing the future of the streaming landscape and evolving our content and business strategies accordingly, it’s immensely valuable to have Rob’s skill set and experience on the team.”

MagellanTV offers thousands of documentaries, films, and series, with more added weekly. Take a gander at some fascinating animals with Madagascar’s Legendary Lemurs, or take a deep dive into outer space with Exploring Venus. In addition to The Bible: A History, members can also access exclusive articles covering an array of topics, from why women love true crime to what physicist Jim-Al-Khalili thinks about life, the universe, and everything.

A MagellanTV account costs $5.99 per month or $59.88 for a year-long subscription. Members can watch HD, Ultra HD, and 4K content on any device.
