ESPNU Ends its Branding Partnership With SiriusXM

Earlier today SiriusXM rebranded its ESPNU Radio channel back to SiriusXM College Sports Radio on channel 84. This move ended a five-year partnership between SiriusXM and ESPNU first announced in 2017. SiriusXM College Sports Radio was first launched back in 2010 as Sirius XM College Sports Nation.

Rumors of this move started to float around a few weeks ago when SiriusXM rebranded Channel 84 to College Sports Radio. Even though the guide was updated the on-air call tags were still ESPNU Radio.

For now, SiriusXM has not made any changes to its College Sports Radio lineup after its ESPNU partnership has ended. No changes are expected to SiriuseXM’s play-by-play coverage on College Sports Radio.

This move does not end the SiriusXM and ESPN partnership. SiriusXM still carries ESPN Radio and ESPN Radio Extra. This move does raise questions about ESPN’s College Game Day simulcast casts on channel 84. ESPNU Radio offered a full unabridged version of ESPN’s College Game Day show.

Update: SiriusXM staff has confirmed that ESPN’s College Game Day show will be fully simulcasted on SiriusXM channel 81.

Here is how SiriusXM College Sports Radio:
