Annnnd now: The 10-part documentary series for your world champion Chicago Bulls.
After subtly hinting or not hinting at an early release for its much-anticipated Chicago Bulls documentary series, ESPN has given hungry NBA fans something to cheer about. The Last Dance, a 10-part miniseries focusing on the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-’98 season (aka the second threepeat), was originally slated to debut in June, just over two years after the series was first announced. But with scores of eager NBA fans looking for content during the currently suspended NBA season, The New York Post reported that ESPN would release the doc early, allowing fans to tune in for an in-depth look at Michael Jordan’s final year with the Bulls in The Last Dance before summer.
Now, ESPN has confirmed the early release in a tweet:

The documentary will air in 10 parts:
April 19: Episodes 1 & 2, beginning at 9pm ET
April 26: Episodes 3 & 4, beginning at 9pm ET
May 3: Episodes 5 & 6, beginning at 9pm ET
May 10: Episodes 7 & 8, beginning at 9pm ET
May 17: Episodes 9 & 10, beginning at 9pm ET
The move comes as media companies scramble to adjust plans and cater to consumers who are spending much more time at home in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. We’ve already seen Disney move up its streaming release of Frozen 2 by several months. Meanwhile, digital purchases of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were made available a few days earlier than expected, so folks had more viewing options over the weekend.
It seems a safe bet we’ll see still more surprise releases as the pandemic continues to force significant course corrections for many entertainment companies and we’ll do our best to keep you up to date. In the meantime, Bulls fans can look forward to reliving one of the most iconic seasons (and turbulent offseasons) in NBA history.
