Kroger just announced that streaming has come to its Boost by Kroger Plus membership. The largest traditional supermarket chain in the United States has partnered with The Walt Disney Company to bring its grocery members: Disney+ Basic (With Ads), Hulu (With Ads), or ESPN+ for no additional charge.
“Boost by Kroger Plus offers members incredible savings every day, and now we are adding even more value at no added cost for our members,” said Stuart Aitken, senior vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer in a statement. “Collaborating with Disney takes Boost member savings and benefits to the next-level, making our industry-leading program even more valuable and convenient for our members.”
How It Works

Kroger joins other companies who are offering Disney’s streaming platforms as part of their packages. Earlier this year, Spectrum added Disney+ as a benefit for its TV Select packages. DIRECTV and Disney have reached a new agreement that will see the TV provider bring subscribers access to a trio of Disney DTC services as well. Elsewhere, Kroger’s competitor, Walmart, offers free Paramount+ as part of its Walmart+ subscription.
There are several other companies from cellular conglomerates to food delivery platforms and everything in between that offer various streaming services to their members. As Kroger joins the trend and consumer needs shift in a competitive market, expect more companies to follow suit over the upcoming months.
