The broadcasts start tonight, Friday, March 27th at 8pm ET, with, appropriately enough, baseball movie The Rookie, starring Dennis Quaid. The movie focuses on high school coach Jim Morris and his chance at becoming the oldest rookie in the major leagues.
The following Friday, April 3rd, ESPN turns its attention to basketball with Glory Road, featuring Josh Lucas. That broadcast is set for 8:30pm ET.

The movie nights mark the latest move by ESPN to fill a sizeable content gap in its programming. We’ve reported in the recent weeks that the company has looked into live sports alternatives like rebroadcasting classic games. In fact, the network aired a full seven-hour tribute to former New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady.
