ESPN+ Adds Exclusive Rights to The Emirates FA Cup

Fans of soccer watching matchToday ESPN announced that they have struck a deal for exclusive rights to stream 79 FA Cup matches beginning with the First Round in November and running through the Final – exclusively to ESPN+. The FA Community Shield, the annual football match between FA Cup and Premier League titleholders to start the English football season, is also part of the deal.

“Acquiring the FA Cup – the oldest national football competition in the world – further demonstrates our commitment to making ESPN+ a must-have for soccer fans in the U.S.,” said Burke Magnus, Executive Vice President, Programming and Scheduling, ESPN. “With its storied tradition and world-class players and teams, FA Cup will be a signature property in ESPN+’s ever-expanding soccer portfolio.”

Tom Gracey, The FA’s Senior Broadcast Manager said: “The Emirates FA Cup remains the world’s most famous domestic cup competition, with unrivalled appeal both at home and abroad. Thanks to ESPN+, we are delighted that football fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy premium coverage of the competition from the First Round, through to The Final.”

With ESPN+, users can view thousands of games and events from professional leagues and international sports as well as college sports from nearly two dozen conferences across the country, including:

ORIGINALS – Exclusive, original content developed specifically for ESPN+, including original documentaries, docu-series and more.

SHOWS – New and exclusive ESPN studio programming devoted to multiple sports and sports topics.

LIBRARY – An unmatched sports archive featuring thousands of hours of on-demand programs and past sporting events.

ESPN+ is available through the ESPN channel in the Roku Channel Store. It is accessible to anyone with a current-generation Roku device.
