Echo Frames Smart Glasses Get Refresh and New Styles, Starts at $269.99

Amazon isn’t done with the smart glasses market. The online retailer introduced a refresh of its Echo Frames smart glasses.

It’s a refresh of the original Echo Frames, which launched two years ago and came packed with Alexa. Like the original, this upgraded version allows you make calls, listen to media, control smart home devices and, of course, ask Alexa questions. The new version comes in different styles from Carrera Eyewear, and start at $269.99.

The Echo Frames are just the latest product to be introduced at Amazon’s fall devices event on Wednesday, which includes a new Echo Show 8, Echo Pop Kids, Fire TV sticks and a long talk about the future of Alexa and generative AI.

The Echo Frame gets a bigger battery, allowing for 40% more continuous audio playback and 80% more continuous talk time than the previous version.

“With smart eyewear, it’s important for customers to feel and look great with the world’s best personal AI that instantly connects, entertains, and helps you be even more productive,” said Jean Wang, director of smart eyewear at Amazon. “That’s why we’ve completely redesigned our Echo Frames and added two styles by Carrera, providing customers with more options at the intersection of fashion and technology.”
