DreamWorksTV Launches Their First Streaming Service

Looking for new a kids’ streaming service? DreamWorksTV wants to be that safe family-friendly service that you subscribe to.

This week DreamWorksTV launched on Amazon Channels as a new subscription streaming service aimed at kids ages 6 through 12 and costs $4.99 a month after a 7-day free trial. Though it is important to note that many of these shows have episodes streaming for free with Amazon Prime.

Before this you would find DreamWorksTV on YouTube TV. Not only will you find content from YouTube on the service but you will also find new original series exclusively for Amazon.

“As we continue to grow the DreamWorksTV brand, this is an exciting step for us to explore revenue streams and brand engagement across platforms,” said Birk Rawlings, head of DreamWorksTV, in a statement. “We are excited to team up with Amazon Channels as they have a highly recognized and sought-after entertainment brand that has a huge opportunity in the kids space for compelling, exclusive, and original content – all of which this channel delivers.”

Amazon has made it clear they want to take on YouTube with a combination of Prime Videos and now Amazon Channels. While we don’t know the final plans behind Amazon’s efforts to take on YouTube, this looks like one more step in that direction.
