‘Downton Abbey’ is Coming to Britbox In December

Next month, BritBox will become home to the largest collection of period dramas with the launch of hundreds of hours of period titles in December, including the critically acclaimed phenomenon Downton Abbey. All six seasons will be available to stream next month.

The series will join BritBox’s already vast library of British period dramas, along with other fan-favorite staples North and South, A Tale of Two Cities, Sense & Sensibility, Middlemarch, Wuthering Heights, The Paradise, and more.

Downton Abbey won multiple awards during its original run from 2010 to 2015, including multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG wins. It also holds the Gunness World Record for “critically well-received show in the world.”

Written and created by Julian Fellowes and produced by Carnival Films, which is a part of NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group, Downton Abbey follows the dramatic and irresistible lives and times of the Crawley family and their servants in 20th century England, as they live through the Titanic tragedy, WWI and navigate the roaring ‘20s. The series stars an award-winning ensemble cast, including Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Lily James, Allen Leech and the inimitable Dame Maggie Smith, alongside many others.
