Disney’s New Star Wars Series Has a $100 Million Budget

Recently Disney announced several new Star Wars shows for their new subscription streaming service. From a final season of Clone Wars to a new live-action Star Wars show. Now we get a rough idea of the commitment Disney is making. According to an interview in The New York Times Disney is planning to spend $100 million on the new live-action Star Wars series. That will work out to be about $10 million per episode as the show is reportedly only going to have ten episodes in the first season. Details are still thin, and it is very likely the new show won’t release precisely when the new Disney streaming service launches.

Now we do have a rough idea of what to expect from the new The Clone Wars season that is coming out on the Disney streaming service. A few weeks ago we got our first look at the show. Here is the trailer they used to announce the new season of the Clone Wars:

For now, we will have to wait and see what the new Star Wars show will look like. What we do know is Disney is spending big on it in hopes that it will attract loyal Star Wars fans to signup for their new service.
