Now we know that Disney will also be adding Star Wars and Marvel movies and TV shows to their new streaming service. “There’s not only room for Disney, but a demand for Disney,” Bob Iger CEO of Disney said. “We’ll have the content to back that up.”
Now this is not the death of cable networks owned by Disney. Iger said that cable networks like the Disney Channel will continue to exist on cable, but it will also be available on an authenticated basis through the new Disney OTT app. He went on to say that live TV streaming services will also have access and some have already expressed interest.
Now we just need to wait for 2019 to learn about the price and how much content will be available on the new service.
