Disney+ Was the Top Downloaded App in the US for Q4

In Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence Data Digest for Q4 of 2019, the data shows that Disney+ is the top downloaded app in the US, with over 30 million downloads from iPhones, iPads, and Google Play from October 1 though December 31. Disney+ beat out Tik Tok, Facebook, and YouTube to take the top spot.

While Disney+ topped the list of overall downloads in the US, it didn’t make the list for overall worldwide downloads. However, it did take the #9 spot for worldwide downloads specifically from the App Store, despite launching well into the quarter, on November 12. The worldwide data was taken from the App Store, looking at iPhones and iPads for October 1 though December 31.When Disney+ launched, it made up 34% of total SVOD downloads for the quarter while surpassing 30 million downloads in the US. SVOD downloads grew overall, increasing by 12.5% quarter over quarter and 4.7% year over year, even without including Disney+ data. The report shows that Disney+ grossed more than $50 million in its first 30 days. In December, Disney+ brought in more revenue than HBO NOW’s best ever month, which includes the months when HBO NOW saw a spike from the final season of Game of Thrones.
