After a Mandalorian season finale surprise, Disney has confirmed that a new series, The Book of Boba Fett, is in production and will be available to stream on Disney+ in December 2021.
After executive producer Jon Favreau made the announcement on Good Morning America Monday, Disney tweeted the news for Star Wars fans.
Where was the announcement during the huge Disney Investor Day event? “We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement for all the shows.. and so they let me keep this one a secret,” Favreau said on Good Morning America.
While The Book of Boba Fett will take place in the timeline of The Mandalorian, the series will be separate. Season 3 of The Mandalorian will begin production in 2021, after the filming of The Book of Boba Fett.
