Disney Launches a Website For Their New Disney+ Streaming Service

Recently Disney launched a new website to promote their Disney+ streaming service that is launching in late 2019. There are not a lot of details on the site other than confirming that it will include content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Sadly not even the Terms of Use gave new insights as they are the same for Disney’s other streaming options. Yet the new site will allow you to signup to be notified of Disney+ news as we get closer to the launch of Disney’s new streaming service.

So what do we know about Disney+? Well, for now, this is it:

Launch Date

According to Disney, Disney+ will launch in late 2019. Reports say the service will likely launch mid- to late 2019 after their Netflix deal ends.

Price

We don’t have an official price, but multiple reports have put the price of Disney+ at $5 a month. Other reports have said the service will be under $10 a month.

What will Disney+ offer?

According to reports, Disney plans to have four to five original movies and five original TV series released on the streaming service in the first year. They plan to invest up to $35 million for each original series with up to 10 episodes per season.

Anything R-rated will be moved to Hulu once Disney owns a majority of Hulu. Marvel shows and movies will not be coming to Disney+. According to Deadline, they will stay with Netflix for the foreseeable future.

The new Disney+ streaming service will launch with big names like High School Musical and Monsters Inc. There will be an original Star Wars-branded title and movies including 3 Men and a Baby, Sword and the Stone, and Timmy Failure.

We also recently learned that Disney will be making three Star Wars shows. One will be animated giving a final season to the Clone Wars and there will be two live-action Star Wars shows.

Disney did announce that the service will be ad-free. Meaning you will be able to stream your favorite shows without interruption.

This is all we know about Disney’s new streaming service. It does look like Disney plans to use their new service as a kid-friendly streaming service with Hulu being the place that offers content aimed at adults. With that said, how much of the Disney catalog that will be streaming on Disney+ is still unknown.
