Disney+ Launches 3 Weeks Early in India

disney +

Disney+ has arrived in India via the OTT streaming service Hotstar. The launch of Disney+ comes three weeks ahead of schedule for India, with the original date set to be March 29. There’s no word on why the launch date was moved up, but it comes as a pleasant surprise for Disney fans in India.

Now, all of India has access to the popular shows and movies available on Disney+, including The Mandalorian and Star Wars films. It looks like 130 TV shows, 30 of which are originals, are currently available on the platform, as well as more than 200 movies. Most of Disney’s classic catalog is available, but The Simpsons is missing from the library as of now.

With this new launch, Disney-owned Hotstar streaming service has rebranded as Disney+Hotstar, complete with a new icon logo showcasing Disney. The highest tiered subscription’s name has also been updated to Disney+ Hotstar VIP.

Hotstar is a video streaming service that allows customers to watch a wide variety of live sports, Indian TV shows, and movies. With Hotstar, you can enjoy unlimited viewing of our content without commercials. Indian movies and shows are available in 8 Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, and Malayalam. You can watch your favorite shows anytime, anywhere.
