Disney+ Is Now Roku’s 4th Most Popular Streaming Service

roku stick plusToday marks one week since Disney+ launched in the United States, and it is already the fourth most popular Roku Channel.

This means Disney+ is more popular on Roku than Amazon Prime Video and is just behind Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu according to Roku’s most popular list.

During the first few weeks, most new services get a lot of attention, which often dies down over time, but Disney+’s jump up Roku’s ratings is far more aggressive than we normally see. The question now is will Disney+ jump Hulu to become the third most popular streaming service or will it slide back down the list as the newness of the service wears off.

Disney is far from being done rolling out its service across the world. Just this week Disney+ launched in New Zealand and Australia. As Disney+ continues to roll out worldwide, it is possible that we will see it climb even higher on Roku’s list of most popular channels.

Disney has announced that in 2020 Disney+ will expand into parts of Europe a market Roku has some success in. One of the biggest of these is the UK, which will launch on March 31, 2019. This should help Disney+ keep its top spot or continue to grow.

What do you think of Disney+’s massive jump up Roku’s most popular chart? Do you think Disney+ can hold on or will it slowly fall down that list as the newness of the service starts to wear off? Leave us a comment and let us know.
