Disney+ is Now Available on Select VIZIO Smart TVs With Chromecast

When Disney+ launched, one of the big surprises was the fact that VIZIO Smart TVs with Chromecast could not play Disney+. Earlier this week VIZIO announced that they will add Chromecast support for Disney+ in early December, but it seems that the update was ready to go early as some VIZIO SmartCast TVs have been updated today to support Disney+.

“We want consumers to know that when they purchase a VIZIO TV, it will keep its value for years to come,” said Bill Baxter, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “Our team is continually improving SmartCast to ensure users have the best home entertainment experience with more ways to enjoy their favorite content.”

VIZIO says they will be rolling out this update to VIZIO SmartCast TVs built since 2016. Not all VIZIO SmartCast TVs have been updated but it seems that this update has finally started to be rolled out. If your TV has not been updated, keep checking as you should see an update over the next few weeks.
