Disney+ Hit 15 Million Subscribers in Just 5 Days According to New Research

Disney+ on ChromebookToday the research group IMA Research announced that they believe that Disney+ hit 15 million subscribers in just 5 days. According to IMA Research, 47% of subscribers believe the price of $6.99 a month is fair. Only 25% say they think $6.99 a month is too expensive.

15 million subscribers in under a week is a huge number, but not exactly surprising considering the amount of Disney fans who were anticipating the new service and the promotion the company gave to the streaming service in the months leading up to launch. 63% of those surveyed by IMA Research were aware of Disney+ (for comparison, 34% were aware of Apple TV+).

How has Disney+ drawn in 15 million subscribers? The Disney/Pixar content library was listed by 46% of respondents as their top reason for signing up. 38% named the Marvel/Star Wars/National Geographic catalog as their reason and 26% said original content was a feature that drew them in. Other features that brought subscribers to Disney+ were the $6.99 pricing (25%) and promotions to try the service for free (21%).
