Disney Has a Plan to Prevent People from Sharing Disney+ Passwords

Cheerful family having popcorn while watching television at homeWe recently learned that Disney and Charter have teamed up to fight password sharing. Now we get a look into how Disney plans to prevent password sharing of Disney+ accounts.

At the D23 event, Disney announced that you will be limited to four streams at once and no more than 10 devices per Disney+ account. For an average family, this will be more than enough, but if you plan to share your Disney+ password with others you may find yourself with more devices than allowed.

Disney is offering Disney+ for far less than many had predicted. When you include the fact that you can get Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ for just $12.99 a month you can understand why Disney would want to make sure password sharing is kept to a minimum.

Disney has made it clear that fighting piracy and password sharing will be a focus going forward now that they are launching Disney+. Exactly what Disney plans to do about piracy and any other plans to fight password sharing are unknown, but expect this to be just the start.

Will these rules change your mind on Disney+? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
