There are a few versions of phishing emails from “Disney” going around. Several that we’ve seen recently are saying that the recipient has been locked out of their Disney+ account and should click a link to restore access. These emails are not coming from Disney and the links navigate to a fraudulent site. If an email looks or sounds suspicious, here’s what you can do.
If you get an email letting you know that there’s a problem with your account, don’t click on any links. Go directly to the official website of the streaming service and sign in to your account. If you have no problem logging in as usual, it’s likely the email was fraudulent. If you’re concerned, contact support directly through the site.
Even if the email looks legitimate, don’t call any phone numbers given in the email. Visit the official website of the streaming service and find the contact page to get in touch with the company.
Never use the same password for your streaming services that you use for other accounts, including email and online banking apps. In the event that your password is stolen, this will help ensure that your other accounts are still safe.
Change your password regularly, creating a unique password each time and using a combination of letters and numbers that will make it strong and difficult to figure out.
