Disney Discs Aren’t Dead: Disney+ Originals Loki, WandaVision, and The Mandalorian Coming Out On Blu-Ray & 4K This Year

For the first time, Disney+ is releasing some of its Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm original series starting next month as Collector Editions on Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD.

The first season of Loki will come out on September 26, followed by the complete series of WandaVision on November 28. The first and second seasons of The Mandalorian will come out on December 12.

Starting August 28, you can preorder all four titles featuring Steelbook packaging, concept art cards, and never-before-seen bonus features and gag reels. Artist Attila Szzarka created the new box art designs.

So far, Disney has only released the bonus features for Loki season one, which includes:

And according to The Digital Bits, Prey will also be released though this has yet to be verified.

In July, some Disney fans grew concerned over the future of Disney’s DVD business after the company said it would stop distributing physical media in Australia and New Zealand after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Some thought would spell the end of collectible Disney DVDs and Blu-Rays. However, Disney has said nothing of shutting down production of its watchable merchandise and noted that each region makes their own decisions of whether to sell physical media.

In fact, a spokesperson for Disney told Cord Cutters News if sales for Loki, WakandaVision, and The Mandalorian go well, the company plans to release more Disney+ originals.
