Disney Is Considering a Star Wars & Marvel Streaming Service

Are you a fan of Star Wars and/or Marvel shows? Disney is considering a streaming service with full access to the Star Wars and Marvel shows and movies according to Disney’s CEO Bob Iger.

This is not a done deal. “We’re mindful of the volume of product that would go into those services, and we want to be careful about that,” Iger explained.

We already know Disney is planning a streaming service for its Disney and Pixar movies in 2019. Disney also plans to launch an ESPN streaming service in 2018 to offer 10,000+ sporting events every year.

These new services are great examples of the power of cord cutting. A 24/7 Star Wars network would likely never make it on a traditional pay-TV provider; however, with cord cutting dedicated Marvel, Disney, or Star Wars fans can get a streaming service just for them.

While these services may not be for everyone for those who love these topics they are great. Especially the access to exclusive content and other specials.

Cord cutting is full of services like this. For years many had dreamed of an anime channel on cable TV, and with cord cutting there are several great services offering anime. Tech TV failed, but now cord cutting offers many great tech networks such as Twit TV.

Not everyone will want these services, but for those who do they can find a loyal and dedicated following. Unlike cable you don’t need tens of millions of subscribers to be successful, allowing streaming services to cater to these dedicated fans with special access.
