Today Disney+ announced “Becoming,” a new documentary series coming to the streaming service that will take a look back at the origin stories of world-class entertainers, athletes, and musicians.
The 10-part series will be shot documentary-style and visit home towns of celebrities like Anthony Davis, Nick Cannon, Candace Parker and more, getting a deeper look on each of their journeys to success. Each episode will focus on a different celebrity and feature important locations from their history that shaped their future.
Influential people in the celebrity’s past, such as family members, friends, coaches and more will share little-known stories and memories giving fans a look into the world that shaped these superstars into who they are today.
This inspirational series, currently in production, was originally created for Disney XD by ESPN Films. It will now be produced in conjunction with Lebron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron from SpringHill Entertainment, and will be available exclusively on Disney+.
Disney+ is launching on November 12, 2019, and will be the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more.
