The Savannah Bananas are heading back to Disney, and this time, the biggest prize in Banana Ball is joining them. Disney+ announced that it will be the exclusive U.S. home of The Banana Bowl, which is set to stream live in October and will feature the top teams in the Banana Ball league battling for the season championship. Disney said the event will include one of the biggest productions the league has ever staged, with the Bananas’ usual mix of athleticism, showmanship, and chaos from first pitch to final out.
In the streaming age, the Bananas have become a true multi-platform sports property. Disney+ and ESPN already rolled out a 25-game exclusive Banana Ball package in 2026, with every game streaming on the ESPN App and Disney+ and select matchups airing across ESPN networks and ABC. Disney also highlighted Bananas appearances tied to Dancing with the Stars, plus special events at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, and near ESPN headquarters.
That broader rollout has been building for months after ESPN and Disney first deepened their Bananas partnership in 2025. Last summer, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, and ESPN+ carried a slate of Banana games, then expanded it further in 2026 with the 25-game package and a first-ever ABC broadcast. The relationship dates back to Bananaland on ESPN+ in 2022, which helped introduce Banana Ball to a wider audience.
In addition to Disney, they have also expanded across The CW, Roku, and TNT Sports/HBO Max. The Bananas made their broadcast TV debut on The CW in 2025, then returned in 2026 with a bigger presence on the network, including six additional Banana Ball games. TNT Sports added another lane for Banana Ball in 2025, with truTV and HBO Max carrying 19 games from the Savannah Bananas World Tour, including the first-ever Banana Ball Tour Championship. On the streaming side, Roku announced in April that it would carry an exclusive Banana Ball Championship League package on the Roku Sports Channel, including free access to games and an interactive platform experience.
After the recent moves, the Savannah Bananas are no longer just a viral act that happens to play baseball. They are becoming a full-fledged media event that now spans broadcast, streaming, and ad-supported platforms in a way few sports properties can match. The new Disney+ agreement just gave cord cutters another way to watch the fun on their favorite devices.
