DISH & Sling TV Lost 268,000 Subscribers in The 4th Quarter of 2022

Today DISH announced their 4th quarter earnings for 2022. In that report, we learned that DISH and Sling TV lost a combined 268,000 subscribers in just three months.

Sling TV ended 2022 with 2.334 million subscribers, down from a high of 2.556 million subscribers in the 3rd quarter of 2021.

DISH TV ended the year with 7.416 million subscribers, down from 10.707 in the 4th quarter of 2021.

In total, DISH has about 9.750 pay-TV subscribers. The good news for DISH is they have added 938,000 wireless subscribers ending the year with 7.983 million wireless subscribers.

Net income attributable to DISH Network totaled $936 million for the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to $552 million from the year-ago quarter. Diluted earnings per share were $1.47 for the fourth quarter, compared to $0.87 per share during the same period in 2021. 

DISH is not alone in losing TV subscribers every major TV network reported losses in 2022.
