Discovery Is Looking at Streaming 17 Channels for Just $5 as Cord Cutting Grows

For years now, many have wondered what an à la carte option would really cost. Discovery may not be ready to offer à la carte yet, but their new streaming service should give us an idea.

This week Discovery’s CEO David Zaslav said that he is considering offering 17 channels for just $5 a month with an $8 per month option. This will include networks owned by Discovery including TLC and the Discovery Channel and networks they recently purchased from Scripps including HGTV, Food Network, and the Travel Channel.

Discovery has hinted at this new service for years now. We still don’t have a release date, and Zaslav said there is no timeline in place yet for the launch. According to Zaslav, Discovery has a lot to learn still.

From the looks of it, Discovery wants to make sure when they launch the service it will go off without any issues. For now, we will have to wait and see when they launch, but hopefully, it launches later this year.
