Discovery Hires Google Senior Director to Lead Streaming Strategy

Discovery has announced the hire of Google’s Neil Chugani to become its new Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy and Operations, Direct-to-Consumer. In the new role, Chugani will work closely with Peter Faricy, CEO, Global Direct-to-Consumer at Discovery and will lead the team responsible for the financial strategy of the rapidly growing direct-to-consumer business.

“We are thrilled to add another world-class executive to Discovery’s growing direct-to-consumer organization,” Faricy added. “Neil has a strong track record of strong and successful business growth in the tech and media sectors, and we look forward to working with him as Discovery continues to invest in expanding our global direct-to-consumer offerings.”

Prior to joining the team at Discovery, Chugani was Senior Director at Google. Most recently, he served as CFO for the Business and Operations of Google and YouTube in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to Google, Chugani served at Group CFO at BBC Worldwide, held senior executive roles at Sky, and was a Technology and Media Banker at Goldman Sachs.
